CIFF Fashion Fair
We visited Copenhagen Fashion Week in January 2020. At first day we visited the Ciff Fashion Fair at Bella Center. We made quick look with Ciff Fashion Fair before our meetings. We were surprised how huge that fair was and how well it was organized.
Pavement Shoes
After that we had a meeting with Mr. Tuukka Saarelainen from Pavement Shoes. He gave great tips how to start up our own business. According to him the most important thing is to find perfect business partner. He said that a working relationship is like any other relationship. You have to get along with your partner, because you have to work together every day. He recommended not to be afraid to fulfill your dreams and just be open to try new things. Everybody makes mistakes and Mr. Saarelainen said also that he has made plenty of mistakes, but he is still going strong. He highlighted that you have to remember one thing ”be humble, but not rude”. Nowadays companies need to consider sustainability and environmental friendliness. Materials the Pavement Shoe use are of good quality and their models are classic and timeless. Pavement´s shoes are long lasting and their customers can trust they can wear them for years. Social media is the most important marketing platform, because almost everyone use it nowadays. Pavement utilize influencer marketing and for example Metti Forsell and Aino Rossi have made collaboration with them. We really liked Pavement`s collection and we could be their customers with pleasure.
We wanted to walk around fashion fair and see other brands before next meeting. We saw many different and well-known brands for example Vagabond, NA-KD, Karl Lagerfeld and Rockandblue.
DK Company
Then after we had our second meeting with DK Company. Tina Krath and Anne Damsgaard introduced us the large entirety of DK Company. It ownes around 21 brands including Ichi, Saint Tropez, Part Two , Gestuz and Blend. They had huge and cozy spaces. DK Company is the second-largest company in Danmark. They wanted to invest in comfort and show example how to arrange great fair. They also arranged big after party in the evening.
Bille Beino
We also wanted get to know the Finnish brand called Bille Beino. They have very interesting story behind the brand. Ville Leino was NHL hockey player, but his game didn`t glide so he flowed to his art. He signed his paintings with Bille Beino logo and people got interested in that. Then they started to create the brand. Bille Beino`s clothes are made with recycled materials. Their men collection is largest, but they have also some unisex clothes and accessories. Clothing line focuses on casual and lifestyle clothes taking influence from skating. Unfortunately Bille Beinos stand was located poorly at this years Ciff Fashion Fair. The stand was hard to find, because it was far away from attraction. We really liked Bille Beino`s clothing line and the staff by stand was nice.
