Designer learns marketing and selling
Anna Laitila studies Design at HAMK. She enrolled on the Global Fashion Business module because she had designed a footwear collection and wanted to learn how to promote it better. Anna learned a lot about different marketing channels and acting in social media from a marketing point of view.
– A trip to the Copenhagen Fashion Week was definitely the best part of the module. It is really difficult to be able to attend those fashion weeks as an individual so this module offered an unique opportunity. This trip increased my motivation and encouraged me try different things, Anna summarizes the experience.
A sneak peak of fashion business
Maisa Valento studies Business Administration at HAMK in Finnish so the Global Fashion Business study module was a great way to learn also English while getting new insights for marketing and learning the fashion business.
It was great to improve my English skills and the study mode combined elements from business students’ and design students’ style, describes Maisa Valento.
Multidisciplinary teams created more value
Hanna Nurminen studies International Business at HAMK. She is also a part-time employee in a local clothing store in Valkeakoski. Global Fashion Business combined her studies and job description together. She says that it was great to work in multidisciplinary teams because business and design students have such a different point of view and it created more value for the study module.
Some might think that studying in English is difficult, but I can assure that it isn’t. The fashion business is international and the working language is usually English. I recommend everyone who is interested in the fashion business to utilize the chance to learn the fashion vocabulary also in English, encourages Hanna.
