Instructions for bloggers

  • Any student or member of staff at HAMK may write a blog. The blog can be written independently or as a part of a course, study attainment, work placement, exchange, project, campaign or  similar.
  • The topic of the blog must be in some way related to studying or working at HAMK.
  • All blogs in HAMK’s blog service are public.
  • When registering the blog, the administrator and writers commit to observing these instructions. See the instructions for registering a blog »
  • The blog is published using WordPress.
  • The content of the blog (text, pictures, videos, links, etc.) must comply with laws, regulations, these blog instructions and common courtesy. Do not publish, for example, any confidential, sensitive or derogatory content or content related to violence in your blog. The administrators of the blog platform moderate the content and any blog entries that do not comply with these instructions may be removed. It is also possible to close down an entire blog, should violations occur.
  • Only publish material for which you have permission to use in your blog. For example, make sure that you have obtained permission to publish a photograph from the persons in it or permission to use a particular piece of music in the background of your video. • In your blog, you can write about products and events of third parties when they are related to studying or working (events, competitions, work placement, projects, collaboration with a company in a project, etc.). Always mention paid product placement or commercial collaboration clearly in your blog.
  • As an administrator of your blog, you are responsible for its content and it is your responsibility to moderate, for example, the comments.
  • The blog service uses a specific theme. You can modify the appearance of the blog e.g. by changing the banner on the top. If you modify the appearance in any other way (e.g. change the theme), we will not provide technical support for problems this may cause.
  • If you encounter problems, the ServiceDesk service at HAMK will help you.
  • You can send feedback and development suggestions to verkkoviestinta@hamk.fi.
  • Questions about study attainments in the blog will primarily be answered by the teacher of the module.
  • HAMK may use the content of the blog in its own and its partners’ communications, advertising and publication activities in all publication platforms, digital communications networks and services. The content is used by linking the original content published in the blog. Other uses or transferring the content to third parties is agreed separately.
  • When you decide to discontinue blogging, notify verkkoviestinta@hamk.fi, and your blog will be archived. If you wish, you can store the content of the blog for your own use. If you are the administrator of the blog and discontinue blogging without notifying it, the blog will be available to read for a year from the last update. After that, the blog will be archived.
  • As the service provider, HAMK has the right to change and update these instructions. If significant changes are made to the content of these instructions, we will have the instructions accepted by the users again.
  • If you notice any material in the blogs that violates the legislation in Finland or the common courtesy, please notify verkkoviestinta@hamk.fi.
