The offline use of EBSCO e-books will be easier with the adoption of Thorium Reader on Tuesday, April 14th.
Thorium Reader replaces Adobe Digital Editions and provides a more accessible and user-friendly way to read downloaded e-books on your own device.
The key features of Thorium Reader include:
• customisable display options (colour, fonts, paragraphs etc.)
• text-to-speech functionality
• light and dark modes
• note-taking, highlighting, and bookmarking.
If you want to download an EBSCO e-book on your own device for offline use, you need to install Thorium Reader on your own device. HAMK staff can install Thorium Reader from Company portal. More detailed instructions for downloading EBSCO e-books will be provided on HAMK Finna.
If you read EBSCO e-books only online, no action is required. You can still read e-books online directly in your browser without installing additional software.
