HAMK coordinates a work package ’Future and Advanced Skills Academies’ (FASA) in the RUN-EU network. FASA is now actively planning pedagogical support and activities both for students and teachers.

Firstly, five universities of RUN-EU will organize a Short Advanced Programme (SAP) for students, which focuses on strengthening students’ skills to study in a deep and reflective manner and to promote their generic future skills. The SAP will be organised in October 2021, starting as online sessions and continuing as an intensive contact study week at HAMK. All students in RUN-EU universities can apply for this SAP. The registration opens in June.

To support teachers to implement innovative and modern pedagogies in SAPs, FASA has prepared a pedagogical script, which provides concrete advice and tips for teachers to design pedagogically coherent SAPs. Have a look at the pedagogical script which has been finalized very recently!

To enhance teachers’ pedagogical competence more widely, FASA will organize five pedagogical development programmes for RUN-EU teachers with an interest and orientation in teaching development. The first programme will be organized during the last week of October at HAMK, and it will bring together 24 teachers from the eight RUN-EU universities. During this week, the teachers will create joint understanding of the elements of high-quality teaching and learning in the RUN-EU network.

During the same week, Design Factory Bootcamp will be organized that features also joint sessions for SAP students and pedagogical development programme teachers. One of the joint events is a half day competition for development of a workshop that best demonstrates the learning of future skills. Design Factory Bootcamp participants will participate in the first and last day of the last week of October together with pedagogical development program teachers and the days in between in learning to co-create and co-develop their own Design Factory, and to launch students projects targeted for developing local industry in global collaboration.

To conclude, the last week of October 2021 will be full of RUN-EU activities at HAMK! More information from Liisa Postareff (SAP, pedagogical development programme) and Jari Jussila (Design Factory Bootcamp)
