Evidence-based nursing uses as current high-quality information as possible, summarized in a quick and easy-to-use format. Good examples of these are the Finnish Current care guidelines and Hotus Guidelines. Here is a list of other evidence-based information sources available at HAMK.

Cochrane

Systematically compiled reviews, controlled clinical trials, and other evidence-based information.

DynaMed

DynaMed contains American treatment recommendations. The most recent research results have been organized, evaluated and summarized by topic. Also includes specialist treatment recommendations from different countries.

EBMG

Evidence-Based Medicine Guidelines is an easy-to-use collection of basic and outpatient clinical guidelines relating to the best available evidence. Constantly updated.

McMaster Plus

A Canadian database of evidence-based health science information based on systematic reviews of articles from more than 120 journals. Articles are evaluated and classified by their clinical significance and novelty value.

Other databases with evidence-based information

Cinahl

An article database for nursing and health sciences, containing both reference information and entire articles. Limit results by “evidence-based practice” or by the evidence type, e.g. systematic review, randomized controlled trial (RCT).

JBI

Content and tools for searching, evaluating and applying evidence-based information. Systematic reviews and best practices, especially for the use of the nursing staff.

PubMed

The open user interface for the Medline reference database from the National Library of Medicine.
