Are you familiar with VitalSource e-books? They are easy to use and more adjustable to your needs than most HAMK e-books. In reader preferences, you can adjust background colour, font type and size, margin size and line height. You can also listen to the text with VitalSource reader function.
Currently our VitalSource collection is limited to three topics: business, engineering and nursing. To browse the collection, use the link in HAMK Finna to login. Then follow these steps:
- VitalSource asks you to create a personal user id, but it is not required if you read the e-book online on your browser. Use the “No thanks, I’ll skip this step” link.
- Read and accept the terms of use.
- Choose your e-book. For more information on the title, click on the cover image.
- Click Borrow and start reading.
- When you finish reading, please return the e-book. Once you close the browser window, the e-book will remain locked for 24 hours, after which your e-book returns to the library. If you want to continue reading, you can borrow it again.
If you want to read your e-book offline, you need to download it. You will find instructions in HAMK Finna.
