Acting against racism takes community effort. HAMK organizes good events and programmes to promote internationlisation and knowledge of new cultures. Here is how you can join us in the action:

Programme of the Week against racism in Hämeenlinna

Monday, March 18

6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Multicultural Food Market

Come and taste delicious food from different cultures. Open to all ages, please bring cash and enjoy a fantastic evening!

5:30 PM – 6:30 PM Multilingual Open Mic Poetry Hour

Presenters and listeners for their own poems – welcome to a multilingual poetry night! Poets do not need to register in advance. Each person has about 5 minutes of performance time.

6:00 PM – 9:00 PM mucafé – Multicultural Café

mucafé is a cafe for everyone. Enjoy pastries and non-alcoholic drinks with live music. We also offer young people in Hämeenlinna the opportunity to showcase their talents on mucafé’s stage. The selection is not your typical cafe menu; mucafé allows you to taste pastries from around the world.

9:00 AM – 12:00 PM Open House for Adult Immigrants’ Basic Education

For all immigrants with children, anyone can join the group. We explore various themes related to children and parenting.

Practice speaking and listening to Finnish, meet diverse people, and encounter various cultures.

Friday, March 22

2:00 PM – 4:00 PM First Snow (Ensilumi) Movie

Open to everyone with free admission, 110 seats available.

The First Snow movie tells the story of a family living in a Finnish reception center that receives a rejected asylum decision. The family appeals the decision and tries to continue their lives.

Africa Day
