Culture talk
While February 14th is internationally known as the Valentine´s Day, it is called Friendship Day in Finland (Ystäväpäivä). We do not only celebrate love and romance here, but also friends and family. It is common that we show our caring and give small presents to our friends on February 14th.
Tuesday February 13th 2024 is the Shrove Tuesday, known as Laskiainen here in Finland. On this day, people living in Finland usually eat laskiaispulla, play Napakelkka, or go to pulkkamäki.
