H\u00e4me University of Applied Sciences Finland has established new transnational training programme of educational leadership in co-operation with\u00a0Instituto Nacional de Formaci\u00f3n T\u00e9cnico Profesional INFOTEP from The <\/span>Dominican Republic. The one-year programme aims to enhance pedagogical developers\u2019 competence in vocational education reform, management and pedagogy.<\/p>\n

The training includes face-to-face and online periods, as well as applied research in competence development, design-based implementation and impact of training. The programme is an initiative of Mr. Rafael Ovalles<\/strong>, the director of INFOTEP. INFOTEP is an autonomous, non-profit institution of vocational training integrating governmental, business and labor sectors. \u00a0The goal of INFOTEP is to develop and promote human capital and productivity of in all economical sectors of The Dominican Republic and enhance social integrity and well-being of vocational students and professionals.<\/p>\n

The two-week kick-off of the transnational training programme was launched in Santo Domingo in November 2018. The intensive training weeks were closed in an open conference “Una mirada finlandesa a la gesti\u00f3n curricular, docente y la evaluaci\u00f3n<\/a>” with almost 1500 managers, developers and teachers. The training concept is planned in collaboration of Finnish and Dominican educators. The manager of the coordination team in The Dominican Republic is Mrs. Maura Corporan<\/strong>. HAMK Team includes Essi Ryymin<\/strong>, Pirjo Tuominen<\/strong>, Nana Niskanen<\/strong> and Maaret Viskari<\/strong>. The participants of the training represent vocational managers, pedagogical developers, administrators and teachers of INFOTEP.<\/p>\n

The Finnish partners were invited also to the 4th national graduation of the vocational training of The Dominican Republic<\/a>, where altogether 26\u00a0100 qualified professionals celebrated their fresh degrees from INFOTEP. Also the President of The Dominican Republic Danilo Medina<\/strong> honored the ceremony by giving his congratulations and appreciating words to the graduates. One of the highlights of the ceremony was the speech of the Dominican winning team of the World Skills Competition of Latin America. Their triumphant message to their co-students and colleagues was: \u201cToday we must feel proud to be Dominican and that we graduated from one of the best vocational institutions in Latin America! But above all because we believe in ourselves and we fight for the better future!<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n
