And in the midst of all the obstacles we face as education professionals, the sensitivity and empathy that we handle with unique human beings, with different characteristics and different life histories, is often eclipsed by situations such as high workload, classes with high number of students, conflicts in the work environment, among other personal issues. \u00a0And yes, just like students, we are unique humans.<\/p>\n<p>Trabalhar com a educa\u00e7\u00e3o de crian\u00e7as e jovens em um pa\u00eds t\u00e3o diverso culturalmente e socialmente como o Brasil \u00e9, sem d\u00favidas \u00e9 desafiante. We have students who arrive at school in their parents&#8217; car and\u00a0 then those who walk for miles; those who had their 8 hours sleep well-regulated in their room and those who share a room with more than two family members; those who had a peaceful night where it was possible to review the content studied at school and those who have to work at night to help at home.<\/p>\n<p>Ao olhar para uma turma de ensino m\u00e9dio, muitas vezes nem imaginamos, mas temos diferentes perfis socioecon\u00f4micos e hist\u00f3rias de vidas. How will a person who does not have the minimum conditions of well-being be able to develop cognitively? Using Paulo Freire&#8217;s words \u201cchange is difficult, but it is possible\u201d, and realizing that the well-being of students and teachers matters for the quality of teaching and learning is a good start so that we can reflect on what kind of education we want for our young people. It is up to us, education professionals, to make these discussions echo higher up in several spaces, mainly towards political authorities in order to claim better conditions for the school community.<\/p>\n<p>Em meus quase dez anos na doc\u00eancia, me deixei ser engolido por essas situa\u00e7\u00f5es, entretanto, quando comecei a desacelerar a minha rotina enquanto docente, reduzindo o n\u00famero de escolas em que trabalhava, indo para uma escola em hor\u00e1rio integral em regime de dedica\u00e7\u00e3o exclusiva comecei a perceber que sim, eu realmente lido com seres humanos! E dizeres como \u201cestudantes que n\u00e3o querem nada\u201d s\u00e3o tratados como verdades absolutas que poucas vezes paramos para refletir se realmente \u00e9 dessa forma que est\u00e1 posto. Ser\u00e1 que n\u00e3o querem nada?<\/p>\n<p>Essa frase tem um peso muito grande, pois ignora a hist\u00f3ria de vida dos estudantes, quem eles s\u00e3o e a condi\u00e7\u00e3o atual deles Como uma pessoa que n\u00e3o disp\u00f5e de m\u00ednimas condi\u00e7\u00f5es de bem-estar ter\u00e1 condi\u00e7\u00f5es de se desenvolver cognitivamente? Usando das palavras de Paulo Freire \u201cmudar \u00e9 dif\u00edcil, mas \u00e9 poss\u00edvel\u201d, e perceber que o bem-estar de estudantes e professores importam para a qualidade do ensino e aprendizado \u00e9 bom come\u00e7o para que possamos refletir que tipo de educa\u00e7\u00e3o queremos para nossos jovens.
