Will to do good, affect through positive encouragement and give people something to do during these difficult times are what combines the students working together for Green Week \u2013 a sustainability campaign launched online.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Green Week is an online sustainability campaign\u00a0on 20.4. – 24.4., that aims on raising awareness\u00a0and\u00a0sharing information about sustainability and green choices, but also encouraging\u00a0to\u00a0take action for mutual good.\u00a0 In HAMK International Business at Valkeakoski campus, all\u00a0<\/span>second-year<\/span>\u00a0students organize an event as a part of their studies<\/span>, in so-called SISU-project<\/span>, with the help of Valkeakoski Vocational College and Tietotie Highschool students<\/span>. This year,\u00a0<\/span>due to the difficult circumstances with c<\/span>oronav<\/span>irus, the students had to\u00a0<\/span>cancel the original event entirely, and change to small<\/span>er projects online.\u00a0<\/span>This is how the online campaign got started.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The idea for\u00a0<\/span>the campaign<\/span>\u00a0was\u00a0<\/span>built<\/span>\u00a0on shared\u00a0<\/span>interest for doing good for the environment and wanting to give\u00a0<\/span>people fun and positive ways to get out of\u00a0<\/span>the awful ongoing situation for a while. <\/span>Green Week\u00a0<\/span>is a fun campaign, where instead of blame and guilt, knowledge is shared in positive means<\/span>\u00a0and everything is being done together\u00a0<\/span>in<\/span>\u00a0a\u00a0<\/span>community-like setup<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Green Week encourages people towards sustainable choices by giving small and simple steps. <\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Every day of the <\/span>5-day<\/span>\u00a0week\u00a0<\/span>introduces<\/span>\u00a0a new<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>way of affecting the change by sharing\u00a0<\/span>tips<\/span>\u00a0and fun ac<\/span>tivities that are easy to participate in.\u00a0<\/span>In addition, participants are very welcome\u00a0<\/span>to share their own tips, progress and thoughts.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to affecting with positive atmosphere and sharing, Green Week\u00a0<\/span>wants to reward those who are active:\u00a0<\/span>everyday<\/span>\u00a0people participating<\/span>\u00a0in the activities have a chance to win\u00a0<\/span>small prizes that fit the theme. These prizes are provided by sponsors, that are announced\u00a0<\/span>on the campaign pages this week.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As mentioned before,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Green Week is a student collaboration between\u00a0<\/span>H<\/span>AMK<\/span>, V<\/span>AAO<\/span>\u00a0and Valkeakoski\u00a0<\/span>Tietotie<\/span>\u00a0Highschool students.\u00a0<\/span>The new smaller SISU projects also give an opportunity for additional student collaboration \u2013 Green Week is working with the help of IB\u00a0<\/span>M<\/span>arketing student project and\u00a0<\/span>student group launching a Cookbook.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
