Olushola Akindipe graduated from HAMK’s Mechanical Engineering and Production Technology in 2009. Today he is employed with Transport for London as a rolling stock Mechanical Engineer.

I chose to move to Finland to acquire a bachelor degree in HAMK, because of the outstanding academic environment

Who are you?
I am Olushola Emmanuel Akindipe, I am from Lagos, Nigeria. I am an Alumnus of HAMK University of Applied Sciences, AGH University of Science and Technology, Poland and The University of Strathclyde, United Kingdom. I am a chartered Engineer and I am  a member of the British engineering council, United Kingdom. I am a member of the Institute of Chartered managers (CMI), United Kingdom. and also a member of the Institute of project managers (PMI), United States. I have a bachelor in Mechanical Engineering and Production Technology (2009), Postgraduate Diploma in Drilling, Oil and Gas (2011) and a Masters Studies in Subsea Engineering (2013).

What have you done?
I chose to move to Finland to acquire a bachelor degree in HAMK, because of the outstanding academic environment and most important the free education system commingled with world class lecturers. After my graduation from 2009 I have worked on various engineering projects. Prior to my current role I was employed by Wabtec Rail Ltd, UK and I worked as the Lead Mechanical Engineer on one of the outstanding projects in the British railway industry, which was the conversion of the seven electric multiple units for London Midland 321/4 to the 320/4 Abellio ScotRail Ltd.

What do you do now?
I am currently employed with Transport for London as a rolling stock Mechanical Engineer. My responsibilities are not limited to make the London underground transport safe. My current duties involves the investigation of the Structural Integrity of the London Underground passenger trains life extension projects through Structural Integrity Calculations and Finite Element Analysis.

I would encourage any potential student that is driven to enroll in one of the engineering course in HAMK uas to further his/her studies not to have any doubt about the world class learning environment HAMK uas have in place to offer. I am also using this opportunity to thank staff members for all their supports whilst in HAMK as a student.
