The current situation has lead to creating new possible solutions for making distance meetings more professional. Current <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hamk.fi\/designfactory\/design-factory-courses-2019-2020\/\">PDP<\/a> has enabled a window to prototype the command center and make it a viable solution for future lectures and seminars. We have now built the first prototyped version of the command center for distance meetings. Read more below!<\/p>\n<h4><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Opening the problem:<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This year has been quite interesting so far a<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">s the school<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0moved i<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">nto more remote learning solutions, there were fewer opportunities to gather students for education.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0These distant lectures offer less communication<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0and participation<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> with the students\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">since\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">students<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0often<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">keep their mics<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0muted and does not use webcams.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> Before Product Development Project 21 started on the 27<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">th<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0of October<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0we were planning to create a command center<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0before the first<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0scheduled<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> lecture. data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0from the equipment we currently have<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0available<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">We have<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0already\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">done<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> a few\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">test<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0runs with this prototype<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0in our Product Development Project 21 course and<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Also looking into the future this<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> could also be used in the future to help student<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> to participate from home while there is a live session going on. This would mean that students can come to watch the live stream or come on the spot. I think that it would be a good thing if the equipment could be installed into a briefcase. This makes it possible to move the c0mmand center easily into different places. The idea is to make it easy as possible for the teacher to set up.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Conclusion<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">:\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0command center<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0build<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0was\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">a great<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> process to prototype. It gave us more insights into what kind of equipment you need and how the setup can help to create mo<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">re interesting lectures. This current situation motivates<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0to create more interesting content and now it is time to develop better remote learning situations.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0Also<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0future ideas would make this setup to be more portable and make it more accessible for teachers to use<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0in the future.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The first version of the command center works for now.
